Zion

I've been meaning to take a ride up to Mt Zion, UT for years now. Finally got a chance to make it out there on Sunday. Randy and I had been planning on this for weeks and kept missing opportunities to go, we finally got our shit together and got on the road.

Not a bad ride overall, warmer than I thought it would be but still pretty nice. The highest temp was just before the gorge, at about 98 and the lowest was at the top of Zion at about 81.

Randy doing some wheelies

Once in the town of Zion the road turned red and the scenery got a lot greener.

Had to stop and get a bike pic

Might as well get one with me on it

They had this long ass tunnel through the mountain with little window cutouts along the wall. Actually pretty chilly in there and dark as fuck.

Here is what it looks like when you exit the tunnel

Little bit of wildlife

Nice and easy pace back, we stopped in the town called Colorado city, UT. It's a full blown polygamy town founded in 1985... Very children of the corn, wanted to take pics of all the kids running lookin like clones but I opted against it. Maybe next time.

Fun ride but all and all I think I like Cali more than Utah.. Anyway gonna try and do a big pine ride next week.. Depends on how drunk I get at the pool on Sunday ;)

Bad water and Dante's peak

Took a ride with some of the 702sportbike guys out to Dante's peak and down to badwater out in death valley.

Gettin our kicks down route 66

My friends Dave, Randy and I took a ride out to Oatman, AZ today. Randy and I made the trip las week but didn't know of the road from Oatman to Kingman, it's a nice twisty desert road down route 66.

A fairly early start, we took off at about 10am and headed out to Havasue. Randy is a big fan of balloons so we headed down there to try and catch part of the Ballon festival. Unfortunately nobody was flying today and we had to just stick to riding our motorcycles.
This road has more holes than a June bride.
Oatman, AZ gateway gold mining ghost town connecting Kingman and bull head.
If you do come through here you have to stop in the Oatman Hotel bar and restaurant and get the double buffalo burger, you won't be disappointed. Cold beers and good food with local musicians playin folk songs and a very unique atmosphere.
Me tryin to figure out my liner situation, it's gonna get a bit cold on the way back.
These burros were everywhere and fat as hell from all the people feeding them, apparently they roam wild and are the descendants from the original burros that used to haul the gold in these mountains. These guys have got it made for sure.

One decided to use Randy's mirrior to scratch his hear.
The ride back was a harry little bitch, the turns werent bad but they were partially covered with rocks and a bunch of potholes. A fun road, you just have to take it easy.
All and all a great ride with some good company, defiantly gonna make the detour to this town every time I'm in the area.
